Result of our Village of the Year entry

Dear All!
I have just received 'THE CALL' that we've all been waiting for, and unfortunately it's not the one we wanted!
We haven't been successful in winning the Regional competition, but this doesn't mean that we haven't won a Category prize.
We won't hear anymore about the Regional, Category or Overall winner until December 2nd at the glittering Award Ceremony at the Guildhall, London.
I don't feel too downhearted and nor should you! I don't think we could have done any more, infact the Organiser said that we really did very well indeed!
The whole thing brought everyone together which has got to be a good thing.
Following on from this, after the success of the Afternoon Tea, I thought it would be really nice to have a regular get together(monthly?) and I am going to try and get sponsorship , from either individuals or businesses (approx £15each time)-to cover the cost of hall hire,refreshments etc.. I think we could do a rota for cakes and helpers. It would be really good to mix young and old, locals and newcomers on a regular basis, to strenghten spirit and keep our village 'together'.So if you're interested in helping or pledging a monthly cost, then please let me know.
