Village Broadband Issues - 22/01/2008
Some people have mentioned to me that they are experiencing slower download speeds than they should be getting, as slow as 45k !!, this is the typical speed for dialup services and not broadband and is unacceptable.
This slowdown seems to have happened a few weeks before Christmas and my own service was also affected. Mine has now been fixed and BT said that they have shifted my line to a different bit of kit in the exchange and the kit I was on was faulty.
Is yours now OK or do you still have problems? If not, are you happy with the way your problem is being dealt with? Have you been give a good explanation why this is like it is?
As an individual it may be difficult to get these issues resolved but as a Village we may have a better chance. Therefore it has been suggested that we somehow try and monitor and report issues like this, from the Village.
A good idea is to have a selection of speed test results as proof, therfore test your connection as often as you can.
Go to the site below and register for free, this then enables you to save your results each time you test plus you can download them if needed as proof of poor quality or speed.
