Hawkesbury Upton Hall Committee
Chairman’s Report for the year 2007
I would like to thank the committee for their dedication and hard work over the past year. This year has again been a busy year for us with our standard hires, quite a few private hires with bar, plus our own fundraisers.
Last year we identified some useful storage space that would benefit the Drama group. Unfortunately they are still progressing this and chasing builders for quotes. It will eventually mean they will be able to store more of their equipment, & props etc. here in the Hall and maybe even release some storage back to us.
We continue to seek grants where we can and did manage to raise enough funding (£1800), to complete the superb toilet refurbishment project and also decorate and tile the hallways and foyer area.
Also we still need to complete our DDA plan and the next part, which is behind schedule, is the access ramp to the Hall. Following on from the ramp we need to redecorate the main Hall as this is definitely looking a bit tired now.
We have also initiated two other small projects, a kitchen and servery area makeover and changes to the upstairs small meeting room to create an office environment.
Looking forward to the coming year we will still continuing the grant searching and application form filling, as well as our own fundraising activities. This should enable us to complete many of the pieces of work we have already identified.
Thanks again to everyone.
