Minutes
of the Last Meeting
The
Minutes were signed as a true record.
Activity
since Last Meeting
EWS
have done a 3 monthly check and flushed through and cleaned the system. There was a problem with the batteries in the
sanitary bins. These will be replaced
but not until we are re-opening.
Playpark
– Jerry is
coming on Wednesday. Chris thinks the
painting on the swings has not been done properly. The RoSPA report highlighted a problem with
gaps on equipment in the junior section which could be a finger trap. Jerry has said these cannot be adjusted but
something must be done so it was decided to ask him to go back to the
manufacturer. In the senior area there
is a potential problem where children could climb out on to the top of the
turreted area (this has already been witnessed). Chris will speak to Karen to find out which
pieces of equipment we bought direct from the manufacturer. These issues need
to be addressed before any final payment is made. Bill will check with Chris before doing
so. There is currently £8708 in the
Skatepark account. Neil confirmed that he has fixed the sign.
Finance
Current
balance is £9798.85. Bill has worked
hard to try and reduce our outgoings.
The oil tank has been filled and the direct debit to Ford Fuels
cancelled. £455 credit in our account to
be returned. SGC haven’t taken a rates
payment for April. Suez have agreed to
suspend payments. Utility Warehouse will
suspend payments. Bill to speak to
Business2Water. We are current with our TV Licence but need to review if we
actually need one. PRS/PPL is paid but
we should receive a credit. Bill is
confident that we can cover our outgoing costs for the next few months.
Neil
collected 70p from the Car Park box.
Update
on Government developments
The
new advice issued by the Government does not change so far as Community
Buildings like ours are concerned.
Playparks cannot be opened. Some
youths from Yate had cycled up to use our Skatepark. Kate will mention it to Sian (community
police officer).
The
Show Committee are meeting later this week to consider whether the Show should
take place. They have requested guidance
from us but the Committee felt that they need to take their decision based on
Government advice. Several larger Shows
(eg. Royal Cornwall Show) have already cancelled.
Amy
thinks Pre-school may consider opening in June (if permitted). Jackie was concerned that as we are a
Community Centre this would prohibit them using the space. It was felt there may be concerns from other
users to give them exclusive use of the Hall.
Health
& Safety Issues
There
will need to be a full Health & Safety plan put in place before anyone can
come back to the Hall. Angelo is still
waiting for John Day to come back with a date for repairing the Skatepark.
Any
Other Business
Louise
has made a start on the wildlife area.
She asked Bill if he would let her know what the budget is. Sally said that the fence belongs to them and
they are arranging for a post to be cemented in to secure it. Chris will arrange to move the fence panels.
Angelo
and Neil are arranging to bring the roller over from the cricket club to smooth
out the ruts on the bonfire area.
Jackie
advised that Anna Bleaken’s wedding has been postponed until next year
(6/8/2020). We will offer to return her
deposit if she wishes. Jackie also
offered to launder the 4 table cloths which are in the kitchen. Chris will collect them from the Hall.
Bill
thinks we should refund Natasha for her parking space. This was agreed.
Date of Next Meeting
The date
of the next meeting will be 8th of June at 7.45pm (via Zoom)
There
being no further business the meeting closed at 8.40pm.
