The Village Hall Survey
We had a great response to the survey - thanks to all who completed it. We had some really positive feedback with 97% of respondents agreeing that the hall is an essential resource for the village and 89% being satisfied with the facilities – this is great to hear! We will be looking at all the ideas for further improvements and considering which will bring most benefit to the hall and users.
There were a lot of suggestions about what activities would be welcome in the hall. Whilst the trustees are not able to run these, if anyone else is interested, there does seem to be an appetite for the following:
· Live music events
· Film club
· Exercise classes
· Zumba
· Beavers/scouts
· Dog training
· Farmers market
· Speed awareness courses
If anyone is interested in holding these at the hall when regulations allow, please get in touch info@village-hall.org to discuss availability and rates.
Fencing repairs
Some fencing repairs are required again to the right hand side boundary of the rec. Please can we ask everyone using the field and football pitch not to climb these fences and to treat them with respect as repairs eat into hall funds and mean less money to spend in other areas.
Health, safety and compliance - FYI
One of the many roles of the hall trustees is to ensure that the hall is compliant with all required legislation. The following licences and certificates are held and kept up to date according to legal requirements:
· Certificate of Employers Liability Insurance
· Hall Insurance Schedule
· Public Entertainments Licence
· Fire Certification
· Food & Hygiene Certificate
· Gambling Certificate
· NVCO Certificate
· Electrical Test Certificate
· PAT Testing
· Certificate of Analysis - Legionella
· Asbestos Check
· Alcohol Premises Licence
· Alcohol Personal Licence
· Charity Registration
In addition, there is a schedule of regular inspections and checks for emergency lighting, fire bells, the play area, the defibrillator, water quality and cleaning.
FYI, all hall policies can be found on the website here: http://www.village-hall.org/policies----guidance.html.
Hall users can be confident that the hall is a safe and compliant environment.
